DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Professor Shahid Akter Hossain and Professor Nasrin Ahmed were appointed Pro-Vice Chancellors of Dhaka University.
Besides, Dr Kamaluddin was made treasurer of the university.
President M Zillur Rahman, also Chancellor of the university, appointed them as Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university on Wednesday evening.
Earlier on Tuesday, pro-VC Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid and Treasurer Professor Mizanur Rahman resigned from their posts.
The professors tendered their resignation letters to Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid in the afternoon.
The resignations came weeks after the pro-government blue panel lost in the university syndicate election to the opposition-backed white panel.
The election debacle is widely blamed on conflicts between the Pro-VC, the treasurer and VC Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique on different issues.
Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty Dean Professor Dr Nasrin Ahmed, Biological Science Department Professor Dr Shahid Akter Hossain were appointed amid the election debacle.
