Sunamganj clash injures 20

SUNAMGANJ: At least 20 people were injured in clash between two groups of villagers following previous enmity over sand extraction from Jadukata River in Lourergarh area under Tahirpur upazila of the district on Thursday night.

Of the injured, five were admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.

Badaghat Union Parishad Chairman Nizam Uddin told banglanews that supporters of Saraf Uddin of Chhararpara and Abdullah of Lourergarh locked into a clash in Lourergarh Bazar after iftar following an altercation, leaving 20 people injured.

Officer-in-Charge of Tahirpur Thana Abdul Hashem told banglanews that on information, police rushed to the area and took the situation under control.
