DHAKA: The visiting delegation of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Dr Gauhar Rizvi Saturday.
One-hour long meeting was held at the state guest house Padma in the city in the morning.
CII President Adi Godrej led the 14-member Indian business delegation.
President of India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (IBCCI) Abdul Matlob Ahmad was present on the occasion.
Welcoming the delegation team, he said, “There is a congenial atmosphere here to do business. The Indian businessmen can expand their business by investing in Bangladesh as there is a cheap labour here.”
In response, CII director Sumit Chakraborty said: “We are very much interested to invest in Bangladesh. We will fix our next course of action after justifying the potentiality of investment.”
CII President Adi Godrej emphasized on cementing the friendly relationship between the two countries through business.
A high-level Indian CEOs Mission had arrived Dhaka Friday on a 3-day tour to further deepen economic and investment relations and strengthen trade and business ties between two neighboring countries.
