Mayor Monjur for Bangabandhu’s ‘Golden Bangla’

CHITTAGONG: Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) mayor and Khaleda Zia’s Adviser Mohammad Monjur Alam vowed to build the ‘Golden Bangla’ of Bangabandhu by terming him as the ‘father of the nation’.

He came up with the pledge while addressing a meeting marking National Mourning Day organized by the CCC authority held at CCC auditorium Wednesday.

The city mayor termed the August 15th massacre as the worst day in the history of Bangladesh.

He said, “If we can build the actual ‘Golden Bangla’, the soul of the father of the nation will be pacified.”

With panel mayor and Awami League leader Mohammad Hossain in the chair, CCC secretary M Shamsuddhoha and pro-AL Employee Union president Dosta Mohammad also spoke.
