Dhaka: To increase mass support BNP- led 18 party alliance wants use the Eid festival as a political tool. Party sources informed that the leaders and activists of these parties have planned to pass Eid festival holidays with the people of their constituencies than with the family members.
Sources said that this idea has been innovated by the party chief Khaleda Zia. Before leaving for Saudi Arabia Khaleda Zia had instructed the party men to make good use of Eid holidays by going to their constituencies and make the people aware of the latest situation of the country.
According to the instruction of the party chief, the alliance leaders have made their presence in their respective constituencies before Eid. During this time they are standing beside the helpless and suffering people. Even they are providing financial helps to them for sharing the Eid enjoyment.
The 18 party alliance leaders will try to mobilize public opinion against the government in the pretext of exchanging Eid greetings.
Opposition leader Khaleda Zia will not sit idle. On Eid day she will exchange opinions with the foreign diplomats residing in Bangladesh , politicians, educationists, journalists and professionals including business leaders. In the evening different level party activists and leaders will exchange Eid greetings with the party chief.
On the next day of Eid she will be also busy with the party activists. In brief the 18 part alliance has planned to build close contacts with the people during Eid.
Meanwhile BNP acting Secretary General has instructed the party leaders to go to villages and convey the Eid greetings of Khaleda Zia to the people. Simultaneously he instructed the party activists to share the Eid enjoyment with the poor and suffering people by standing beside them.
When contacted Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told Banglanews that, ‘the 18 party leaders want to share the Eid enjoyments with the common people.’
He also added that the common people must be informed about the present situation of the country as well as they will be made aware of how to protect the country and how to emancipate the people from the present ‘misrule’.
BNP standing committee member Dr. Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain told Banglanews that after Eid day he will go to his constituency and pass the whole day with people of the area.
Bangladesh Labour Party Chairman Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Eran will exchange greetings with the common people in Dhaka on Eid day. On the next day he will go to Kaukhali-Bhandaria to exchange greetings with the common people.
Dhaka city Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud has gone to his constituency in Baufal of Patuakhali before three days of Eid. He told Banglanews, ‘that most of the time of the year I stay in Dhaka. So I like to ‘sacrifice’ the Eid festival with the people of my locality’.
