GAZIPUR: One freedom fighter was killed in a road accident in Bakudia village under Kapashia Upazila of the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sharfuddin Sarkar, 75, resident of the village.
Source in the deceased family said that a rashly driven motorcycle knocked him down from behind in the area, leaving him injured critically.
Locals rushed him to Gazipur Sadar Hospital and later he died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge of Kapashia Thana Delwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
