DU dean election Wednesday

DHAKA: Dhaka University dean election of different faculties will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Senate Bhaban between 10am and 2pm.

Awami League and leftist political organization backed blue panel and BNP-Jamaat backed white panel would compete in the election.

Different faculty candidates are blue panel`s Prof M Akhtaruzzman and white panel`s candidate Prof Sadrul Amin in Arts Faculty, blue panel`s Prof Sibli Rubaiatul Islam and white panel`s Haripada Bhattachajee in Business Studies Faculty, blue panel`s Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed and white panel`s Prof Rowshan Jinnat Ara Naznin in Social Sciences Faculty, Prof Imdadul Haque of blue panel and Prof M Abul Bashar of white panel in Biological Sciences Faculty, in Pharmacy faculty blue panel`s ABM Faruque and white panel`s Prof M Saiful Islam, in Fine Arts Faculty blue panel`s Prof M Abul Baraq Alvi and white panel`s Prof M Abdus Sattar, blue panel`s prof ASM Maksud Kamal and white panel`s Prof Mohammad Quamrul Hasan in Earth And Environmental Sciences Faculty, in blue panel`s Pro M Sekul Islam and white panel`s prof Shahida Rafique Engineering And Technology Faculty.

Law faculty election would not be held as white panel`s Prof Taslima Mansur has no competitor.

Commissioner of the election and proctor Prof Kamal Uddin said all preparations have been completed to hold the elections.
