TANGAIL: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader Friday said Tangail district will be brought under commuter train by December next.
The minister came up with the disclosure while visiting newly built rail road from Bangabandhu Bridge to Tarakandi at Bhuapur of Tangail on Friday.
According to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s pledge, three districtS-Tangail, Mymensingh and Chittagong-will be brought under the service of commuter train, Quader said.
He added that from now the timings of the train would be followed strictly.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 37-km long Bangabandhu Bridge- Tarakandi rail road on Saturday.
Among others, Tangail Deputy Commissioner M Bazlul Karim Chowdhury, police super AKM Hafis Akter, Zila Parisad Administrator Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk, Pourasava Mayor Sahidur Rahman Khan were present at that time.
