Student dies falling from hospital balcony

BARISAL: A college student died from third floor of the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Mainul Haque, 23, a student of Accounting Department of Poet Nazrul Islam Govt College in Dhaka and son of late Moslem Mia of Banaripara Upazila.

SMCH emergency department doctor Ranjit Das told banglanews, “Mainul was admitted to Medicine unit at third floor of the hospital suffering from stomach pain in the morning.

He fell down from the balcony adjacent to corridor of the third floor failing his body balance while he sat on there.

He was recovered and rushed to Surgery department where he succumbed to his injuries.

The body has been kept at hospital morgue for autopsy, says Dr. Das.

Mainul’s relative Enamul Islam told banglanews, “He came to his sister’s house in Battala area of the city. He was admitted to the hospital in the morning as he felt stomach pain.
