NEW YORK: Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) Managing Director Pijush Banerjee said Bangladeshi film has not advanced in last 40 years as it uses analogue system in producing films.
He came up with the observation in a discussion meeting held at the America-Bangladesh Press Club during his visit to the United States on Wednesday evening.
The people concerned with films have to change their thinking and bring intelligent youths ahead to make good films, Pijush said.
The whole system of film production is witnessing a disaster and for this, we have to bring radical changes in its production system to overcome this problem, he added.
“The government has declared film as art,” the actor informed adding, “Film and Television Institute will be built up by this year that will play a vital role to find out the genius for this sector.”
Bollywood has made its place in the international market because of its Film and Television Institute in Pune, he cited.
America-Bangladesh press club president Kazi Shamsul Hoque presided over the meeting while its general secretary Mir-E Wajed Shibli moderated the programme.
