DHAKA: Tourism is one of the priority sectors in Malaysian economy. In terms of tourist arrival Malaysia is one of top ten countries in the world and stands at number nine. Tourism contributed $20 billion to Malaysian economy in the last year.
Tourism Malaysia, the tourism promotion authority of the country came up with the disclosure at a product briefing seminar held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the city on Friday.
Tourism Malaysia organized this seminar while Regional Director of Tourism Malaysia Zulkifli Mohamed Syed, Vincent Fong, General Manager of Aubella Sdn Bhd on behalf of Malaysia `My Second Home’ programme, Dr Mary Wong Lai Lin, CEO of Malaysia Health Travel Council, Chris Syer, Executive Director of Malaysian Golf Tourism Association spoke at the seminar.
Representatives of various Bangladeshi organizations dealing with outbound tourism participated at the seminar.
Speakers highlighted various tourism destinations in Malaysia, attractive features of Malaysia `My Second Home’ programme, Golf facilities available in Malaysia and tremendous achievements in the field of healthcare services.
On sideline of the ongoing exhibition of Malaysian products and services-Robi Expo Malaysia-2012 and Food & Cultural Festival this type of seminar will be held everyday.
