BNP-Jamaat sponsors serial bombings: Suranjit

DHAKA: Awami League Advisory Council member and minister without portfolio Suranjit Sengupta said the BNP-Jamaat alliance sponsored the August 17 serial bombings across the country.

Violence like this is not possible without the sponsor of the government, he added.

The AL lawmaker came up with the allegation while addressing a human chain organized by Swechchasebak League held in front of the National Press Club in the city on Friday.

He said Bangalees will recall the incident with contempt done by four-party alliance.

With Swechchasebak League president Pankaj Debnath in the chair, Tanvir Shakil Joy MP, vice president of the organization Kazi Shahidullah, Dhaka City South AL president Debashish Bishwas, Dhaka City North AL president Modasser Chowdhury, among others, spoke in the human chain.
