DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Sunday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 163 points minus to stand at 4,001 at the close on the first trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions, however, decreased to Tk 1,382 million from Thursday’s Tk 1, 856 million. Trade deals stood at 53,972 against the previous day’s 68, 188.
Of the issues traded, 14 advanced, 243 declined and 1 remained unchanged.
GRAMEENPHONE LTD. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 94 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, MPETROLEUM, LANKABAFIN, BEXIMCO, JAMUNAOIL, NBL, LAFSURCEML, SQURPHARMA and UNIQUEHRL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7,777 by dropping over 253 points.
Out of the issues traded, 3 gained, 167 declined and 3 remained unchanged.
