DHAKA: Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will arrive here on May 5 to join concluding ceremony on the occasion of celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of lone Nobel-laureate Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.
The foreign ministry of the country mentioned the visit as sustainable diplomatic relevance for the bilateral development.
Sources from the foreign ministry said Pranab Mukherjee is visiting here following Manmohan Singh’s Dhaka visit in last year and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s New Delhi visit in 2010.
An official of the foreign ministry, wishing anonymity, Monday confirmed this to banglanews.
He said Pranab Mukherjee will arrive here at 9:00pm on May 5 from Manila of Philippine en-route Singapore.
A six-member delegation from New Delhi will visit Dhaka before Pranab Mukharjee.
Pranab Mukharjee, along with the delegation, will leave Dhaka at 5:30pm on May 6.
Pranab will attend the function of the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore as special guest at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on May 6.
The Indian Finance Minister will also pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on the day.
He is also scheduled to meet Finance Minister AMA Muhith at Hotel Sonargaon at 3:00pm.
Pranab will stay at Hotel Sonargaon during his visit.
