CHITTAGONG: At least five people were killed and many others injured when a girder of an under construction flyover collapsed in the port city on Saturday evening.
The identities of the deceased—five passersby--could not be known immediately.
Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Tanvir Arafat confirmed banglanews.
The accident took place on Khaja Road near Bahaddarhat in the city at around 7:30pm.
The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The death toll may rise, said a spot account of the incident.
