Man shot dead in city

DHAKA: A man was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Wireless gate area of city’s Mohakhali Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Bashir Mia, 40, hailed from Patuakhali district. He was a water and power supplier of city’s Beltola slum.

Rubel, cousin of the deceased, said that two terrorists shot Bashir randomly from a motorcycle when he was sitting in a tea stall in the area, leaving him injured critically.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctor declared him dead, Rubel added.

Sub-Inspector of Banani Thana Arifur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Earlier on July 25, Bashir’s son also received bullet wound.
