Indefinite bus strike on Dhaka-Dinajpur route

DINAJPUR: Dhaka Motor Owners’ Association called an indefinite strike on Dhaka-Dinajpur route from Wednesday over the conflict between owners and motor transport workers.

Dinajpur Motor Transport Workers’ Union sources said workers stopped Hanif Enterprise bus to enter the district as the authorities sacked bus driver Babu for his alleged involvement in irregularities and refused to reappoint him.   

Later, Dhaka Motor Owners’ Association went on an indefinite strike from the night.

Confirming the matter Dinajpur Motor Transport Workers’ Union General Secretary Fazle Rabbani told banglanews, “We took decision to stop vehicular movement on the road in an emergency meeting on Wednesday night.”
