DHAKA: Some branches of commercial banks will remain open on Thursday for three hours in Dhaka and other areas to keep transactions ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Bangladesh Bank’s off-sight supervision department issued a circular recently in this regard.
The commercial banks are allowed to open all or specific branches in Dhaka, Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna and Chittagong will remain open from 9:30am to 12:30pm on the day on basis of their own management.
As per another circular of the central bank, all branches of the banks are allowed to remain open on Saturday.
Authorized branches of the commercial banks located at Biman, Sea, River and land ports are allowed to open Friday and Saturday to continue foreign trade.
The branches of the banks which involved in foreign transaction may remain open.
