Kaspersky Lab and their exclusive distributor in Bangladesh & Bhutan Officextracts jointly organized the Meet The Press on ‘Enterprise IT Security’ at Dhaka BASIS auditorium.

Presenting information & data on the topic and sharing views with the media people, the meet was addressed by Bernie Bengler, Director of Cloud Services of Kaspersky Lab- Asia Pacific region, BASIS President Mahboob Zaman, Bankers CTO Forum President Tapan Sarkar and Officextracts CEO Prabeer Sarkar.

Could Services expert Bernie Bengler informed that, to help channel partners support smaller firms in addressing the security implications of trends such as consumerization, increased use of mobile devices and social media, cloud computing, and virtualization, Kaspersky Lab has launched a new edition of Kaspersky Hosted Security, its cloud-based security solution for web and email.

Prabeer Sarkar presented information & data on local virus infections and cyber threats. Based on continuous monitoring, research & analysis conducted by Kaspersky Lab he informed that Bangladesh is No. 1 by user based analysis with 96.75% in local infections (meaning viruses and malware spreading through pen drives etc.) and it becomes the 9th most vulnerable country exposed to threats via the Internet.

BASIS President Mahboob Zaman emphasized on security of all categories of users including individual, home & small office, small, medium & large enterprises. He admired authorities of Kaspersky Lab & Officextracts for exploring detailed information on the security issue to the mass media.

Bankers CTO Forum President Tapan Sarkar opined that there is no alternative other than ensuring security of sensitive data storages, especially that of online financial transaction and state & public importance.

He urged working on the issue jointly by public & private sector entities and vendors providing solutions & services on IT security.
