DHAKA: Scholastica, a private English immersion school in Dhaka, is going to organize a Grand Graduation Ceremony for Class XII on June 27 at the STM Hall of the Senior Section of its Uttara Campus.
Wasfia Nazreen, Second Bangladeshi Woman to conquer Mount Everest & Alumni of Scholastica will be present in the ceremony as Chief Guest and Syeda Madiha Murshed, Deputy Managing Director of Ascent Group will grace the occasion as the Special Guest.
A total of 133 A Level Students of May/June 2012 Examinations sat for exams under Cambridge International Examination-Board and will be awarded graduation certificate from Scholastica by the honorable Chief Guest.
This year the theme of the program will be ‘Festivals of Bangladesh’ where students of Scholastica will depict different seasons and festivals of Bangladesh through songs and dances.
Scholastica was founded in 1977 by Mrs. Yasmeen Murshed, who had begun her career in education as a teacher in various institutions. After Liberation she began teaching small groups of students at home.
This led to the establishment of Scholastica Tutorial in 1977 which was the earlier name of the school. She ran the school as it slowly grew and expanded as the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Scholastica until 2007.
