JESSORE: A half-day hartal was observed on Friday at Abhaynagar upazila called by upazila BNP protesting the killing of its local leader on Thursday night.
The hartal began at 6 am and ended peacefully at 12pm.
The hartal supporters brought out a procession from Nowapara Bazar in the morning.
Abhaynagar Thana OC Salek Ahmed told banglanews hartal was observed peacefully. No unpleasant incident was recorded.
On Thursday night, Lutfur Rahman, general secretary of Abhaynagar municipality BNP, was shot to death by unidentified assailants.
