ADITMARI, LALMONIRHAT: A farmer was found dead at South Parulia village in Hatibandha upazila on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Afjal Hossain, 56, son of Gafur Ali of the village in Upazila.
The deceased’s son Iman Ali told banglanews, “Former UP Chairman Rokon Uddin and his son Shahdat Hosain called on my father on Monday evening.”
Later, locals found his body lying near our house around 9:00am, he added.
On information, police rushed in and recovered the body
Iman Ali alleged that the duo beaten to death his father over longstanding land dispute.
Hatibandha police station OC Anisur Rahman confirmed the incident to banglanews.
The process is underway to file case in the connection. The body is set to be sent to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital, said the OC.
