Communication with Khagrachari cuts off

KHAGRACHARI: Vehicular movement on Dhaka-Chittagong highway with Khagrachari suspended Saturday morning as the decking plate of Baily Bridge broke down near Guimara Upazila Bazar.

Meanwhile, traffic on both sides of the road stranded due to the wreckage.

Witnesses said the decking broke down while a goods-loaded truck crossing the bridge at about 8:30am.

Confirming the matter, executive engineer of Khagrachari Roads and Highways Department Abdur Rashid told banglanews they have sent a team for repairing the bridge.
