BRAMANBARIA: Export-import trade between Bangladesh and India through Akhaura land port remained halted Thursday due to nationwide strike called by Indian CPM in protest against hike in petrol prices.
Akhaura land port C&F Agents Association Secretary Monir Hossain confirmed it to banglanews.
He said, “Earlier, Indian businessmen informed us that export-import trade will remain halted in Indian side due to observance of a nationwide strike on Thursday.”
The trade will resume on Saturday after weekly holiday, he added.
