DHAKA: Jatiay Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad claimed that he was not sick and government detained him at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in a bid to arrest.
He asserted that Jatiya Party would not participate in ensuing parliament election under present election schedule.
Ershad’s special adviser Bobby Hajjaj disclosed the matter to journalists on Friday afternoon on behalf of him.
“I am not sick. Government detained me at CMH hospital to arrest,” said Ershad.
In the message Ershad directed his party men to work together and be patient.
He also warned party leaders not to give any anti-party statement during his detainment.
Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel took Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) from his Banani’s residence on Thursday night.
