BNP falls into its own trap: Suranjit

DHAKA: Regarding speedy trial act, Suranjit Sengupta, minister without portfolio, said BNP fell into a trap what was created by themselves during their regime.

He came up with the observation while addressing, as chief guest, the third annual conference of Bangladesh Chhatra-Juba Oikya Parisad in Kazi Bashir Auditorium of Mahanagar Natyamancha in the city on Friday.

Terming ‘Speedy Trial Act’ a black law, he said, “Khaleda Zia was the father of the act, and Barrister Moudud was the one who came up with the idea.”

Khaleda Zia now understands that Moudud’s idea was a bad idea, he added.

Regarding some intellectual’s comment about Ilias Ali’s missing to veil the money scandal of railway, he said the residents of Sylhet have good relation to each other, and he was sad to hear the news of his missing.

At the time, the senior Awami League leader claimed that there was a powerful third hand in Ilias missing and killing incident of Sagar-Runi and Saudi diplomat.

We didn’t get any clue of the incidents as these were done so impeccably, he added.

Regarding imprisoned 33 leaders of opposition, he said, “The four-party alliance government did the same to us.”

Regarding caretaker system the minister, indicating Khaleda Zia, asserted that elected government and caretaker government can run in parallel.

Terming Moudud as a villain of mass revolution, he claimed that Moudud is not able to conduct any successful mass revolution.

Bangladesh Chhatra-Juba Oikya Parisad President Advocate Sattendranath Chandra Bhokto presided over the conference.
