DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday afternoon left Dhaka for Indian business hub Mumbai to receive the ‘the World Education Congress (WEC) Award’.
The WEC authority has chosen Nahid for the award for his leadership and outstanding contribution in education sector.
The two-day incentive session will begin from June 29 in Mumbai where the Bangladeshi Minister will address along with distinguished scholars, researchers, mentors, educator and education ministers around the world.
Nahid was attributed as the icon of brotherhood, the model as an education worker and sage and the forerunner of transformation in a letter issued by WEC Award and Academic Committee chairman Edward Smith.
In addition, WEC is governed by a global advisory council. The congress confers the reward every year for utmost contribution in education worldwide.
