DHAKA: Robi Axiata Ltd, the country’s fastest growing mobile operator, recently launched its Auto Prepaid SIM Replacement System, which will bring better control on SIM replacement and deter opportunities of fraud, said a press release.
The new system has been initiated for the safety of Robi subscribers. Using the system Robi can now extend special protection of a customer’s MFS (Mobile Financial Services) account against fraudulent SIM replacement activity, it added.
The automatic SIM replacement system will help Robi ensure proper customer validation and will protect customers from unauthorized SIM lifting.

The system has been designed to automatically lock a Robi subscriber’s m-wallet after a successful SIM change. On SIM replacement, subscribers have to communicate with their respective MFS partner to unblock the m-wallet account.
This system will reduce unauthorized SIM change and deter grey calls as well as reduce dependency on contact centers for SIM Replacement information validation queries.
