DHAKA: A two-day photography exhibition presenting the photographs taken by the online news portal banglanews24.com readers began at Dhanmondi Drik gallery Sunday.
A total of 40 photographs are on display.
Those were selected from about 3500 photographs sent by the banglanews24.com readers in a competition titled ‘Banglanews-Walton Photo Contest 2012’.
The organisers awarded best thirteen photographers on the inaugural day.
Twelve photographs were taken from twelve categories including ‘nature’, ‘politics’, ‘heritage’, ‘entertainment’, ‘wildlife’, ‘youth in action’ and ‘women in action’.
The other one photograph was selected from Facebook ‘Like’.
Banglanews24.com Head of News Mahmud Menon, Output Editor Ahsan Kabir, and noted photographers Syed Zakir Hossain and Jiban Amir and Walton representative Safiul Haque Sajal handed over the awards at the ceremony.
The winners are Kuddus Alam, Harun-or-Rashid, GH Shoyeb, Shakil Ahmed Chowdhury, Shubhrata Deb, Nilesh Roni and Kazi Manzurul Mobin.
The other winners include, Hasibul Hasan Fahim, Rezaul Hafiz Rahi, Mehedi Hasan and Rafael Haque Khan.
The show will remain open from 3:00pm to 8:00pm till July 2.
