DHAKA: Opposition BNP Tuesday called countrywide 8-hour hartal for Thursday to press home its demand for immediate release of its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The party will also observe hartal from 6am to 2pm in protest against the killings and arrests of opposition activists during their Sunday’s road blockade programme.
The decision came from a press conference held at central office of the party at Nayapaltan in the city after observing day-long hartal on Tuesday.
