DHAKA: In the current fiscal year, the Bangladesh Bank (BB) has set a target to distribute Tk 14,130 crore as agricultural loan, which is about 2.39 percent higher than that of the last fiscal.
The new target is about 2 percent of the total loan.
BB Governor Atiur Rahman is set to officially announce the Agriculture and Rural Loan Policy on Tuesday.

In the last fiscal year, Tk 13,132 crore agricultural loans were disbursed against a target of Tk 13,800 crore.
According to the new policy, state-owned specialized banks will distribute T. 5,900 crore, Krishi Bank Tk. 4,600 crore while four other commercial banks TK. 2,707 crore.
Besides, the loan distributing target for 29 commercial banks was fixed at Tk. 5,088 crore and nine foreign banks at Tk. 435 crore.
