DHAKA: Speakers at an international seminar on ‘People’s Empowerment and Development’ said poverty does not always create terrorism rather educated persons create terrorism sometimes.
After the conference, they came up with the observation in a joint press conference held at a city hotel on Monday noon.
The speakers also said fighting against the climate change crisis is the main challenge for the future.
During the press conference, Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Indian Minister of Rural Development, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Jairam Ramesh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal Narayan Kaji Shrestra, Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka Professor G L Peiris, Works and Human Settlement Minister of Bhutan Lyonpo Yeshey Zimba and Deputy Foreign Minister of Maldives Ali Hameed spoke.
With over 80 participants from 62 countries, the two-day long international seminar on ‘People’s Empowerment and Development’ kicked off in the city on Sunday for the welfare of the world’s one billion bottom-line people.
