JnU students stage demo for results

DHAKA: The students of Economics and Mathematics Departments of Jagannath University staged a protest rally demanding publication of their results.

The students of the session of 2005-06 staged the protest rally in front of their departments around 11:30am.

The protecting students said according to the university rules, the results should be published within eight weeks as their fourth year second semester examination ended in December of the last year but the authorities failed to publish it yet after five months.

That’s why, the students staged the demonstration.

Dr Azam Khan told banglanews that the publication of results is being delayed as the external examiners extended their time to submit examination papers and the assimilation of irregular students’ results with the regular.

The students of Mathematics department locked the department and refused to unlock it until the results publish.

Associate Professor of Mathematics Department Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that the deadline of results publication is not over yet.

He said, “The students have withdrawn their programmes as we assured them to publish the results within May 30.”
