DHAKA: At least 13 leaders and activists of Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) were injured in a factional clash over placing wreath on former president Ziaur Rahman’s grave on Monday.
Sources said the leaders of DAB led by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir placed wreath on Zia’s grave marking the 23rd founding anniversary of the front organization of BNP.
Later, the followers of Dr. AZM Zahidul Hossain and Dr. Mazharul Islam engaged in an altercation over placing flowers on Zia’s grave at about 10:30am, immediate after Fakhrul left the place.
At one stage, they locked into a clash that left at least 13 people injured.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals.
