Thursday’s stocks end higher

DHAKA: Investors saw gain in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 62 points to stand at 4284 on the last trading day of the week.

The volume of transactions, however, tumbled to Tk 2,389 million from Wednesday’s Tk 2, 527 million.

Trade deals stood at 77322 against the previous day’s 78375.

Of the issues traded, 227 advanced, 23 declined and 16 remained unchanged.

GRAMEENPHONE LTD. topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 141 million having changed hands.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8273 by gaining over 97 points.

Out of the issues traded, 151 gained, 23 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
