DHAKA: The Embassy of Bangladesh in Paris Wednesday delivered its first Machine Readable Passport (MRP) to Mansur Miah, an expatriate Bangladesh national living in Paris.
In line with the government’s decision to introduce issuance of MRP by all its missions abroad, the Embassy in France inaugurated the MRP enrollment system on July 4 this year.
Accordingly, the first Machine readable passport booklet was delivered by M. Shahidul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh in France in a simple ceremony.
“I am very happy to be the first Bangladeshi in France to receive Machine Readable Passport,” Mansur said.
An official of the consular section said that from now it will be a routine matter to deliver MRPs to Bangladesh nationals here.
There are more than 20,000 Bangladesh nationals residing in France who will be issued with MRPs in phases, the official added.
