SATKHIRA: Leaders and activists of Kalaroa upazila Awami League blockaded Jessore-Satkhira highway demanding removal of Officer-in-Charge of Kalaroa Thana Moniruzzaman Molla on Thursday morning.
Ignoring the incessant rain, hundreds of leaders and activists of the ruling party took position in front of the thana adjacent to Jessore-Satkhira highway around 11:00am.
Among others, Kalaroa Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Aminul Hoque Laltu, Business Association President Arafat Hossain, Kalaroa Upazila Awami League joint convener Firoz Ahmed Shapan also spoke.
The rally was presided over by Kalaroa Upazila Awami League Convener Sajedur Rahman Khan Chowdhury Majnu.
The speakers alleged that Moniruzzaman has been harassing the people by imposing fake cases against them and has also been taking bribe from the corrupt persons.
