DHAKA: Indicating Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, former home minister Mohammad Nasim asked him not to talk like a hawker of Gulistan.
“Don’t speak like a hawker of Gulistan and it will never increase the number of vote of BNP rather decrease,” he said.
The senior leader of the party came up with the plea while addressing a discussion meeting held at Public Library in the city Monday.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker said, “Awami League is an elected political party, so it needs not to raise fund for election in the name of construction of Padma Bridge.”
He added: “You are spreading propaganda in fear of losing in next election if we start construction of the bridge and now you should stop it as the countrymen understand everything.”
Nasim also assured people of the country that the construction of Padma Bridge, trial of war criminals and power problem would end during this Awami League tenure.
The discussion was addressed, among others, by AL general secretary Ahmed Hossain, Information and Research affairs secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain and city AL organizing secretary Shah Alam Murad.
