DHAKA: The authorities of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd (IBBL) welcomed the central bank for taking decision to look into the suspicious funds supply from HSBC Bank USA claiming that the bank has never financed terrorist.
Managing Director of IBBL M Abdul Mannan came up with the assertion while addressing a press meet at the head office of the Bank in city’s Motijheel area on Thursday.
He said: “IBBL never provide fund to any terrorist. There is no question of financing such anti-Islamic, anti-state, illegal and subversive activities.”
He, however, admitted that the central bank fined them twice for suspicious transaction in between 2004 to 2007.
The high official of the bank said, “We always welcome the Bangladesh Bank authorities to monitor our banking. They can investigate any issue if they want.”
