DHAKA: A suspected miscreant was killed in a gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members in Ashulia, on the outskirt of the capital, on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Iqbal, 27.
RAB-1 Major Ahsan told banglanews a patrol team of RAB gave signal to a recklessly driven motorcycle. But, the motorcyclist fired several rounds of bullets towards the patrol team forcing them to fire back, leaving Iqbal dead on the spot.
He was died on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Besides, RAB personnel recovered a foreign made pistol, a revolver, seven rounds of bullets, a magazine and a motorcycle from the spot.
RAB officials said Iqbal was the principal accused of Saiful murder case.
