DHAKA: The journalist community of the country will stage mass hunger strike demanding the announcement of the 8th wage board on May 9.
Leaders of Sangbadik Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SSKOP) rescheduled the date for the third time in an emergency meeting held at the National Press Club in the city Sunday.
On April 3, the journalist community declared to stage a mass hunger strike on April 22 and later rescheduled the strike for April 25 due to hartal.
With President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury in the chair, the meeting was also attended, among others, by, Ruhul Amin Gazi, Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Omar Faruk, Matiur Rahman Talukder, Kamal Uddin and Khairul Islam.
