ETV chairman sued for tax evasion

DHAKA: Ekushey Television Ltd (ETV) Chairman Abdus Salam on Sunday was sued for dodging income tax.

Fazlur Rahman Khan, deputy tax commissioner of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) filed the tax evasion case with Senior Special Judge`s Court of Dhaka around 11:00am.

Accepting the case, Judge Md Zahirul Haque said his court will passed the order in this regard after hearing the deposition of the plaintiff.

The case statement said ETV chairman evaded Tk 9.34 crore income taxes in the fiscal years of 2006-2007.
