JESSORE: Indicating opposition leader Khaleda Zia, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu Saturday asked her to leave companion of Jamaat for practicing democratic and non-communal politics.
“Leave the association of Jamaat for practicing democratic and non-communal politics or make yourself minus from the party,” he said.
The information minister came up with the remarks while exchanging views with the activists of Jatiyatabadi Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) at Jessore Circuit House in the morning.
He also observed that Jamaat has not changed after 40 years of independence. “They are trying to impede country’s independence, sovereignty, history and culture.”
He said the incumbent government has taken the challenge of completing trial of the “self-declared war criminals”.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Mostafizur Rahman, Jessore Press Club President Mizanur Rahman Tota, BFUJ Vice-President Sazed Rahman, Jessore Union Journalists’ President Kiran Saha and District Information Officer Shibpada Mondal were among others present at the programme.
