DHAKA: With a view to support Bangladesh’s corporate sector with the human resource that will have greater perception of CSR, Dhaka University, has taken an initiative to integrate the subject in its curricula.
The university’s vice-chancellor Thursday formed a core team to develop CSR module responding to an initiative of MRDI which aims to mainstream CSR to address poverty in partnership with Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF).
The team will develop CSR curricula and incorporate it in the business and social sciences faculties of the University.
Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice Chancellor, Dhaka University welcomed the initiative and said, CSR is becoming an issue of social importance and it should be prioritized as a subject for the students at graduation and post-graduation level.

Hasibur Rahman, Executive Director, MRDI said the country’s corporate sector was facing dearth of executives who have knowledge of CSR. This initiative will contribute to better utilization of CSR concept and build a better Bangladesh.
Professor Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Business studies, Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of social sciences, Syed Ishtiaque Reza, Director, News, Ekkatur TV and Md. Shahid Hossain, Advisor, Planning and Development were also present in the meeting.
