DHAKA: The protest rally of opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance has begun on Wednesday afternoon demanding return back Ilias Ali, his driver, trial of Saudi Diplomat Khalaf killing and protesting deterioration of law and order.
The protest rally started at 3:55pm in front of the party’s Naya Paltan central office in the city, with City BNP member secretary Abdus Salam in the chair.
Leaders of 18-party alliance, including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Publicity Secretary Professor Tasnim Alam are among others present at the rally stage.
In line with BNP chairperson declared protest programmes, the rally is being staged, which was scheduled to be held on July 1.
Earlier, the rally was postponed for unavoidable reason.
