DHAKA: Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir said eight suspects in the killing of Biswajit Das during the Sunday’s road-blockade were held.
Muhiuddin made the disclosure at a discussion organised by Digital Bangladesh Forum at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday.
Other involved in the killing would also be arrested, he added.
The minister however claimed that the murder suspects are not active in politics of Chhatra League (BCL).
On Sunday, Biswajit, a 24-year-old and a tailor in profession, was killed in an attack by a group of BCL leaders and activists adjacent to the capital’s Victoria Park in front of Jagannath University.
BCL activists took Biswajit, who came from Shariatpur district, for a pro-blockade activist, witnesses observed following the attack.
