DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Friday said the government is not paying any heed to the environment and law that results landslide incidents.
The senior BNP leader made the allegation after placing floral wreaths at Ziaur Rahman’s grave on Friday morning.
“The government wants to suppress the opposition movement through killing, abduction and oppression,” said Fakhrul.
Regarding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s comment that BNP will not get even 10 seats in next national election, he said, “Stop oppression on the opposition and hold election under a neutral caretaker government to evaluate political stability and popularity.”
Fakhrul also urged the government to accept the mass demand for restoring caretaker government system.
