DHAKA: The outgoing ambassador of the Netherlands to Bangladesh Alphons Hennekens paid a farewell call on Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni at her office on Monday.
During meeting, Hennekens said Bangladesh achieved significant growth in various sectors despite having various constraints.
The envoy mentioned that Netherlands is diversifying its presence in Bangladesh in different areas beyond development cooperation, through forming mutually beneficial partnerships with government, NGOs, business sectors, the universities and so forth.
The envoy has highly appreciated Bangladesh’s impressive achievements in poverty alleviation, school enrollment and related social indicators.
Netherlands is ready to remain engaged as a partner ‘to continue its strategic support to Bangladesh’, he added.
