DHAKA: Opposition Leader of the House BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.
A regular flight of Emirates Airlines carrying the former prime minister landed at Jeddah King Adbul Aziz Airport at about 3:45am (Saudi Standard Time).
Earlier, she left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Friday night for treatment.
Saudi Western region BNP president Ahmed Ali Mukib told banglanews, “The opposition leader will exchange views with higher level officials of Saudi government on the day.”
Besides, several numbers of leaders and activists welcomed their leader at the airport.
Earlier, the opposition leader took treatment from Bangkok.
She was scheduled to Saudi Arabia to take treatment but due to movement against the government she cancelled the schedule.
Recently, the Saudi ambassador to Dhaka met Khaleda Zia and invited her on behalf of the Saudi King Abdullah to visit the country.
Khaleda is scheduled to return home on June 21.
