DHAKA: BNP Chairperson and opposition leader Khaleda Zia is addressing the 18-party mass-rally in front of party’s central office in city’s Naya Paltan.
Thousands of leaders and activists from across the country are listening Khaleda Zia sitting in front of the stage.
The law enforcers have set up check posts in different points of entering the city including Nabinagar, Radio Colony, Savar bus stand and Amin Bazar areas and searching buses and passengers’ bodies.
Earlier BNP vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman said in the rally, “There is no alternative to one point demand to oust the government as it has increased murder, abduction, filing fake cases and torture.”
BNP joint secretary General Barkat Ullah Bulu said, “Awami League is trying make Bangladesh a ‘Mini India’ by giving lands to Indian company Sahara Paribar and they will ruin the local housing sector at the same time.”
Advisor to BNP chairperson Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said, “Awami League has ridden on a wrong bus which would never take them to their target.”
